AMPED is a free youth music program that provides a safe environment for youth to explore their creativity through music.
AMPED provides free access to education, instruments, technology and performance opportunities for Louisville's young minds to thrive through the power of music. Local musicians also hang out in the studio as volunteer mentors.
AMPED students receive hands-on training of the music business through production, distribution and marketing. AMPED students are trained in the various skills such as guitar, drums, piano, audio production, video production, and more. The students are then given the opportunity to take the skills that they have learned and begin to be paid for teaching those skills to others in organizations outside of AMPED. The students are paired with an AMPED mentor in this process. This helps the student to become empowered and it gives them the tools to become independent and productive citizens that can play a significant role in charting their own path.
